WHAT IS AN AQUA FACIAL?

The Aqua Facials integrate vacuum extraction, exfoliation, and hydration. An Aqua Peel is a safe, multi-faceted approach to skin revitalization; it is great for all skin conditions. The Aqua facials works in three different ways:

Bamboo Bliss Massage

Bamboo massage is a technique that incorporates bamboo stalks of varying lengths and diameters to provide deep-tissue work. (The Japanese name for bamboo is take, while the Chinese call it chu. It is from this word that the cho sticks, used by some bamboo massage practitioners, take their name.) Some practitioners combine elements of shiatsu, traditional Chinese medicine (where bamboo cups or the ends of the stalks are used in specific ways), Thai massage, lymphatic drainage, and even Ayurveda into the technique, and sticks are sometimes heated or essential oils are incorporated into the massage. How Does Light Therapy for Pain Work?

LED Light Therapy for Wound Healing

Light therapy has been shown to accelerate tissue repair, decrease wound size and accelerate wound closure as well as other beneficial effects. These mechanisms have been demonstrated to promote dermal wound healing as well as reduce the pain associated with the healing process. The Celluma is intended to be used for dermal wound healing referring to the treatment of surface wounds existing at the outer 2mm of the skin and including normal, acute post-surgical and chronic wound healing including but not limited to diabetic ulcers

The seminal research for Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT), also known as LED therapy, was conducted by NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center out of concern for astronauts who might be injured or become ill during long term space flight. Phototherapy has been shown to accelerate tissue repair, decrease wound size, accelerate the resolution of erythema, accelerate wound closure and prevent dehiscence¹.

Phototherapy prior to surgery may reduce the incidence of hypertrophic scars and keloids ².

Ongoing post-surgery photo-rejunvenation² (activation of fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin, stimulation of keratinocytes which produce keratin to provide structural strength to the skin).

Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation prevention².

Activation of mast, macrophage and neutrophil cells can decrease inflammation and protect against infection.

Phototherapy is anti-bacterial. The presence of P-acne bacteria can lead to post-operative infections, particularly in shoulder surgery. Using the professional grade LED light therapy prior to surgery can decrease the presence of this bacteria

 

Cancellation Policy
We understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone's life. In our desire to be effective and fair to all clients, the following policies are honored:

24 hour advance notice is required when canceling an appointment. This includes canceling part of your service at the time of your appointment. For example: You book a massage and facial, arrive and cancel the facial, or have a wax appointment for 3 wax services and you only do one etc. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give us 24 hours advance notice you will be charged the full amount of your appointment. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.

Shaving prior to your wax appointment
Anyone who shaves the day of, day before etc. if you show up and have removed the hair and need to be reschedule you will be considered a canceled appointment and be responsible for the full amount of your appointment. Hair must be 1/4", the length of a grain of rice, or longer up to 1/2" to be waxed. If you shave there is nothing for the hair to hold onto and the service cannot be completed. We recommend stopping all hair removal, shaving, nair, sugaring etc at least 10 days prior to your wax appointment.

No-shows
Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show.” They will be charged for their “missed” appointment.

Late Arrivals
If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, your therapist will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other customers, please plan accordingly and be on time.
